Matt Saunders (Luke Wilson) meets and falls for Jenny Jackson (Uma Thurman), without initially knowing that she is the alter ego of G-Girl, a superheroine. (Think of Diana Prince alias Wonder Woman or Linda Lee Danvers alias Supergirl.) When her true identity is revealed to him, his ardour cools and he realises he loves his work colleague, Hannah (Anne Faris). G-Girl reacts badly to being dumped and exacts her revenge. Just to complicate matters, Jenny's former boyfriend, Barry, now Professor Bedlam (Eddie Izzard), comes on the scene. CGI effects are used competently, though they are hardly ground-breaking. Ah, if only this film was as funny as it intends to be! Some may feel that the cartoon sequence accompanying the closing credits is quite a bit funnier than the film itself. Never mind. We can take solace in the fact that in several scenes, Jenny wears a trench mac.

The man was played by Attal himself. Also featured is the British screen legend Terence Stamp. Charlotte also wears his Burberry in a manifestation againsi Le Penn and the fn after the victory of Le Penn in the first stage of the"elections présidentielles" in France. Serge Gainsbourg (Charlotte's father) the French singer also wore trenchcoats, in 1979 he topped the charts with his reggae version of La Marseillaise. He had bought the original sheet music. In the auction room he was surrouded with men with ties and suit but he wore his Burberry belted over jeans - the "négligé" look, unshaven, a cigarette in his mouth, sunglasses. The True Story of a boy, played by Dicaprio, who went on a check writing spree thru out the United States in the late 60's, while posing as an Airline Pilot, Doctor and a Lawyer before the age of 18... In the early part of the film, there is a brief scene of his mother, played by French actress Nathalie Bay, in a see-thru white polka dot raincoat, accented by a green scarf! The Secretary, Steven Shainberg, US, 2002	Star Maggie Gyllenhaal applies for a position as secretary at a law office. It turns out that her boss (James Spader) likes to give his secretaries a thorough spanking - and it also turns out that his new secretary likes it (to say the least!). For that reason alone the film is worth seeing, but also for the fact that Maggie Gyllenhaal, when applying for the position, enters the office wearing a purple rubber cape [For the purist: polyurethane or the like I'm sure - ed] which she keeps on for the entire scene (a couple of minutes). Early in the movie, Uma Thurman's character is in a coma after an attempt on her life, Daryl Hannah's character, Elle Driver, is entering the hospital on a rainy night to do away with her, and she is sporting what looks like a designer beige-yellow raincoat (Prada?), along with yellow galoshes and an umbrella. Anger Management, Peter Segal, US, 2003	Reserved Adam Sandler is ordered to attend anger management classes following a misunderstanding aboard an airplane, Jack Nicholson stars as his overbearing counselor.. Somewhere towards the end, there is a scene where adam meets two of his session mates for dinner, played by Krista Allen and January Jones, respectively wearing black and red shiny pvc trenchcoats, looking drop dead gorgeous!!! Their mission : sink a boat in Noth-Africa. Back in Europe, in the airport, Monica Belluci wears a classical white trenchcoat. Later, in the last scene of the movie, she wears her trenchcoat full buttoned up, belted and collar turned up. (Bernard)
A Different Loyalty, Marek Kanievska, Canada/UK/US, 2004	Sharon Stone wears a classic trenchcoat in several scenes. She plays the role of an American woman whose British husband disappears. No trace of him, but she gets harrassed by the CIA from then on, and later she is told that he actually is alive and well and living in Moscow ... since he is -- and always has been -- a spy for the Soviet Union (the story is set in the Sixties). This scene reminds me of Sophie Agacinski in nearly the same situation in "Seule à Paris". Italian actress Caterina Murilo also wears a trenchcoat in this movie - but no epaulettes. (André)
